Sam's bike

Sam's favorite thing to do is to ride his bike.  He has been riding freestyle for close to 20 years.
He absolutely loves it.  However he has decided to make a change.  He has decided to upgrade to a slightly larger bike with front suspension to allow for more diverse terrain such as mountain trails and dirt jumps.

Here is a picture of Sam on his old freestyle bike catching some air off this 12ft. half pipe.

I put this bike on lay-away for Sam for Christmas.  He he was so excited he rode it home from the bike shop.  Here is the proud new owner of his very first "big boy" bike.  Sam is a big guy and he looked even bigger on his old bike(s).  He often looked like he stole some little kid's bike and was riding around on it.  This bike is a little more his size.  Now he will have the versitility to ride what he wants, when he wants, maybe.

The kids were just as excited about Dad's new bike as he was.

Homemade bread

So, anyone who knows me knows I am domestically challenged.  However, I'm trying to change my ways and learn new things.  So I attempted to bake bread from scratch the other day.  I was so excited that I took a picture.

So here is my honey whole wheat bread.  The house smelled heavenly and  as a bonus the bread was edible.  It was actually quite good.  I will definitely be making bread on a regular basis from now on.

Blue and Gold

Sammy gave a very thorough and well thought out presentation on the state of Alabama at the Blue and Gold banquet.

Here is our little scout with the "Man" cake he and his father made together.  It received two awards.  It was voted most edible and sportiest.

SuperDad

Sam has been way busy with work and school, but like the "SuperDad" he is, he took a little time out of his busy schedule to do a "father/son" project with Sammy for his cub scout Blue and Gold banquet.  They had to design, bake and decorate a cake with no help from Mom.   That was a no-brainer for Sam since he is the chef of the house.  They came up with a plan and whipped it out like a couple of pros.

Here you have it:  A very patriotic snowboard cake.  Nicely done guys!!

Ross

Ross is posing for pictures to send to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Charles to thank them for the outfit (which he's wearing) they sent him for Christmas.  He turns into a real ham when the camera is on.  The little jeans have a patch on the leg and every time he moves little red lights flash.  They are so cute.  Its like a tracking device...just follow the flashing lights.  Thanks Aunt Sharon and Uncle Charles.

Snow Day

I am new to this blogging thing, but it looks like so much fun, so...here goes.

We had a nice snow storm a few weeks ago.  Sunday night when I tucked Sammy in he told me he had prayed for a snow day.  He got out of school early the next because of the weather. Half a snow day is better than no snow day!!  By the time our parking lot was plowed we had a nice snowbank to sled on.

Snow days rock!!!

How sweet is that?!  Dad had to get in on the action too!
Ross is not happy.  This nothing a little hot chocolate won't fix.
